Maple is the favored wood of most professional players due to its performance and durability. It is a harder and denser wood species than the traditional ash. It outperforms ash by 15-20% and outlasts it 3-1.

Birch is a compromise between the harder stiffer maple and the softer more flexible ash. Players who want more feel than they get with maple but want better performance than ash find birch a good choice.

X Bats offers 30 different adult baseball bat models for every players size and style. These are the finest wood baseball bats money can buy. While the majority of players like maple for it's performance and longevity, many pro players have recently been moving towards birch. We source our birch from the finest birch forests in Eastern Quebec. There are still a minority of players who like the flexibility of ash and are wiling to sacrifice performance and longevity for feel. We source our northern white ash from specific geographic locations in the northern latitudes so our quality is incomparable to the ash available on the market. This tends to be a very end loaded bat for a power hitter who likes a thin handle and small knob with a slight flare.

It has a tapered medium sized 15/16" handle flaring to a very large knob with a full power hitter's 2 5/8" barrel.
